sucks to hear about loosing those gigs. ive had the same thing happen this week due to a book deal i also have and not being able to take any more jobs. it sucks, but you have to do it.

anyways, ive always been curious about your page process. what is your process of a page start to finish? that light looks quite interesting.

Thanks Rob, I’ve waited quite a few years for a closer to Scud, and i appreciate the work your doing for that. Hopefully another D project will come your way, I’d love to see that. so again…thanks, and i can’t wait to read the book.

I’m glad to hear how dedicated you are to finishing the Scud series. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. thanks & keep up the good work.

Hey don’t sweat the lost work. You got to follow your dreams and do what you believe is right. If you stay true to what you believe in, things will always work out for the best. Of course, that is provided you aren’t completely and totally insane.

It’s humbling to know that now your head is in Scud 21 space, just how much you’re prepared to give up. That is an inordinately average decision to have to make. I rate the D a lot. So much that I’m travelling 2100 miles later this week to see them, and after seeing your work previewing the Pick, I’m disappointed it couldn’t happen – and not just from my selfish perspective.

I have to say (and I can’t talk for anyone but myself); but it’s been 10 year or so… could it wait another year or two for #21?

I’m sorry about your illness and the Tenacious D job. Your Ween and Deathcab for Cutie videos were great, and your promos for The Pick of Destiny were as funny as the movie itself. Just want you to know that I find your work (and your commitment to it) extremely inspiring, and I’m sure I’m not alone. Best of luck, and thanks for sharing so much of your life and process with your fans. Hope you feel better soon.

Oh man. Bummer. But as a Scud fan, let me say how much I appreciate your sacrifices. I just hope your work on Scud doesn’t turn from determination into bitterness.

Keep on trucking Schrab. You. Can. Do. It.

It only sucks in the short run. SCUD #21 has probably been a subconcious burden over the years. It will be good for your sanity and future works to get it out of your head and onto paper so you can free that mind-space.

Question: Will Drywall and/or Oswald be making an appearance in #21? I’ve always been curious how they got out of the situation in issue #16 to go onto their adventures in The Drywall and Oswald Show.

    hey rob
great to hear that you are doing another comic. Scud or otherwise. i know the money isn’t as great as those Hollywood bucks, but it was a damn shame when you stopped doing comics. Is there any chance that the scud model sheet from years back will make an appearnce in the trade as sort of a bonus?

All I’ll say is fuck Cars. John Lasseter is good and all but Monster House deserved it way more…

Hey ROb…seen some cool fan art on here….Is any of it gonna make it into the book? or maybe a spot here on your site?
Sucks about the TD video…but I have a feeling that you will reap the rewards of this book someday…
You are too much of a genius to NOT get another shot at a video…
Keep it up man, I love the vlogs.

Don’t forget, you should be doing this for yourself above all.
Can we send donations to ‘Git er done’ to get you through this book? I’ll be sure to get two copies of the book :) I have severe OCD and a fat wallet. Finishing this book can help cure both those situations ;)
I can’t believe how committed you are to this.
Do you have any idea how many pages #21 is going to be? You mentioned hitting a potential wall or problem around ‘page 25’

I need to get that on MP3… I hear bits of it in my head during my daily life… any direction on where I might be able to acquire it?

Anybody know Josh Mason? He wrote one of the issue for Tales fromt the Vending Machine. Lost track of him.

That was a great issue -drawn amazing. I forgot who did it. Can anyone help me get ahold of these guys?

Jorge Pacheco did the art on TFTVM #5.

A Jorge Pacheco ALSO did the inking on the first issue of the Sonic The Hedgehod Comic in 1993, AND he is listed as an attending Professional at 2006 ComicCon, AND he is listed as being an attending Professional for 2007 as well. It would be real easy to contact them and ask them, or just look him up when you get there.

Joshua Mason is a little more difficult, he would be between 24-26 now. I found an actor and production assistant named Joshua Mason who is in that age range. But other than that, no one well known, I found one writer in Chicago named “Josh Mason”, but other than that, no writers. Do you know where the kid was from?

    Found Josh Mason:

I am about 100% sure its him, he’s a writer, his stories are all very much like #5, and he is the perfect age.

I’ve also got an address and phone number, I did a whois on his website jsamuelmason.com, there is no contact information on the page itself, BUT he’s been updating it for the last week or so, its a journal of him trying to get into Law School.

Forget the law school, this is your Jason.

    im curious about something.

do you still have pages for sale? also, is there a chance that pages from 21 will be available after publication?

i still need some scud to frame on my wall.

Hey ROb…seriously, you should put out a scud t-shirt, so all of us die-hards can help push the comic coming out… (you said you had all the rights back)... I dunno, just wanted a scud t-shirt where you profited from it.

I understand how if you don’t obsess over a comic as if it was a paying gig that it won’t get made. It gets even worse having to explain to my wife and three kids why I absolutely have to miss a family reunion that happens every four years just to get a page done on a graphic novel that will likely never make money.
It’s the reason that Lucas kept making Star Wars, Kevin Smith had to make Clerks and you and Dan keep cranking out CHannel101 crap.

And as for turning down the video…you are completely retarded. What the hell are you thinking? At the very least, everyone can see that when you commit to a project you finish it and that means something to video-people—even though most are too coked out to notice anything but the brand of cell-phone you use.

Quit reading this and get back to work.

Oh Rob! Thanks for the detication! I’ve waited 10 years for Scud # 21, but I’d rather not worry about you eating! You are the best! Thanks man, can’t wait to see the completed issue, as well as the Sarah Silverman Project.
