Amazing. Keep up the great work, Rob, and try not to feel too pressured! The important thing is not when its happening, but simply that it IS happening.

Be it Sarah, 101, or Scud, what matters is that you’re out there getting exposure, creating. And as a fan, I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Thank you for doing this Rob. This is going to be the coolest book ever. I’ll probably buy two.

Damn, that was sweet. Steve did the editing, too? What a great job. I love that he used the multiple angles, the color burns, those little holds with the fade-outs of you and Kate, etc. to keep it interesting. Dave’s was okay, but this was FANTASTIC. Catchy little tune, too. Can’t wait to see the book, it’s looking very…intense (what with Scud yelling a lot, though I guess he has reason to at this point) and generally awesome. Good luck with the remainder and all the other Schrab-errific projects we have to look forward to. You are an inspiration, sir. Thanks again, and keep it coming!

Steve just lent me the camera. I cut it together. The Song is Alpha Beta Gaga by AIR.

Hey Rob- I discovered scud back in grade school (right around when it ended) and instantly fell in love with yor book! I’m really excited to hear you’re now finishing it and I’ll be one of the firsts to grab it when it comes out- Keep going, can’t wait!

    Dos Cosas (Nostras):

That was awesome. When your face is first shown, and Kate is in the back, I thought she was playing Guitar Hero. :p

And your choice of music is as always, awesome. Reminds me of the suggested tracklistings for the latter issues of Scud. I think part of you always saw it as a TV show / cartoon, and I loved imagining it that way.

I think this was my favorite vlog yet! All those shots of people that only lasted a single frame made me think of fight club…. and the subliminal cocks.

So really it was all you.

Continuing to impress, Mr. Schrab. Great job.

Yeah I thought Kate was playing a Rickenbacher guitar.

Kate was actually practicing her banjo. Fit the song. Very Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

Man, that was my favorite vlog yet.

Really makes it clear what life making a comic is like.

    looks fantastic.

im surprised your pages stay stationary when you draw. im used to tossing them in circles to get better angles while inking and what not. interesting to see a different take on em.

are those copics you ink with? ive had a hard time with the bleeding from those.

also, on average, how long does it take you to finish a page? the toning and post-production looks to be a pain.

It takes eight to twelve hours to pencil, ink and tone a page. Dura-lar Acetate Alternative doesn’t bleed at all so all my lines stay nice and clean.

killer. man, if you worked that fast all the time you’d have the book done by now. ;) great work man. is there a place to pre-order the book?

Image will advertize for it once the book is completed. Since I’ve been on hold (and will be on hold for the next two weeks) the book will continue to be pushed back. Once the book is done I’ll post appropriate links and info.

love the song, and lapse aside you rattle off like a machine gun. but not to say your just taking shots, cause its incredible to watch a vision unfold. im sorry to say i dont own any SCUD books yet, but im looking forward to picking this up. also anxious to see the 2nd season of TSSP..(break a leg?)

dphunkt brings up an interesting question. I wonder what percentage of the audience for this book will be introduced to Rob’s work through his tv and video stuff? (I’d predict at least 50%) Will that play into the book’s marketing at all? Will there be a sticker on the front cover that says “From the creator of Monster House and Sarah Silverman Program”

Frankly, I’m less excited by what will on the cover than by the possible (cross your fingers) spike in interest in reviving Scud as a movie or TV show. The chances are better than ever now that you have the creds! Long live the Heartbreaker!

Everybody buy two copies of the omnibus. He can’t say no then.

to sorta clarify, ive admired SCUD from afar and through the collections of friends in the past. so its a reintroduction in my case. that said, a revival seems certain. and with that said, thanks to the omnibus – everyone call fall in love all over again/with 70 pages of closure, or even fall in love for the first time (i fall somewhere in between). really looking forward to the opportunity to help spread the revenue around!

    I love this video!
My older brother got me into Scud way back when I was just a wee one. I collected most of the issues, but ended up selling them to that same brother a while back. He doesn’t even know about this yet, though. I’ll definitely be buying 2 copies, so I can surprise him with one for his Birthday. He’s gonna FLIP. I can’t wait! I miss that ol’ robot too, and it’s gonna be great reading ‘the whole she-bang’. It’ll be like taking a trip back to the 90’s… and my childhood. Ahhh, memories. Okay, this getting a little long and sappy. Sorry, everyone! THANKS AGAIN, ROB!!! #21 is looking great!
