Dangit! I walked right by the image booth and didn’t realize you were there! Why did I think you weren’t going to Comic con? Did you say you werent going at one point? My booth was so close to image and I can’t believe I missed out on this. Boo on me.
That Scud action figure is…Well, Scud always looks so fluid in your work Rob, kinda sucks you get an action figure that resembles a Zombie Scud. Voodoo Ben made that action figure.
I guess it depends how much articulation it has. I guess it depends on whether you want an action figure or a statue. I think a little statue would kick ass as well.
“How did YOU get into hollywood?” HAHA. Rob you are quite the asshole…I love it! I was first in line on sunday and wanted to shoot the shit but I was worried I would get mauled by the line of fans behind me. Interested in making more shirts after the release of the book? I work at a screen printing company in San Diego and would love to work on your stuff. we have product in Hot topic and as well as other mass market dept stores. maybe I can help you get a fat check. And I’m sure you would end up with all creative control. lemme know man, the world needs more scud merchandise.
Yeah I past by the image booth so many times and didn’t even think that since you do the Sarah Silverman Show and they were having a panel that day that you would be there. Ahh well..maybe next year after the book is finished and you’re doing signings. =) Keep up the good work
I was watching The Sarah Silverman Program (a real scream!) last night and saw your name in the credits and said to my wife ” I used to do comic cons with a guy by that name.” You may remeber me, I used to make a comic called Rat Bastard. I read your “about” page and found we had a similar story up to a point. My writing partner Tim and I had a development deal with Imagine Television and Buena Vista in 2000, but UPN didn’t bother to put any new shows on—oh well, that’s entertainment. But, yeah for three years it burned pretty bad. I’m long over it.
Tim and I moved out to L.A., much like yourself in search of a new deal. One of the people we met in our North Hollywood neighborhood was Cleto Escobido, bandleader for Jimmy Kimmel Live. We used to all hang out and The Oyster House, a local watering hole. Jimmy and Sarah came by one night and we all had a great time.
I eventually moved home to Red Bank NJ, and got married. I’ve gotten very involved in the NYC animation scene, and joined the board of ASIFA-East. Rat Bastard may just get made finally—this time through a partnership with a Canadian company and Cybergraphix in Glendale. But enough about me—I just wanted to say I was really glad to see another guy from the old comicon circuit doing well. I remember those days doing comics and cons as some of the most fun I’ve ever had. There was a great camaraderie among all the artists and writers. Glad to see you stuck it out.
I’ll take a walk around the block to Kevin Smith’s comic shop and see if they’ve got the new Scud.
