ONLY ON COMEDY CENTRAL
I directed this one too. See if you can guess which parts I came up with.
“Humanitarian of the Year – Sarah takes in a homeless man to prove that she’s a caring person. Brian learns karate, but fails to use it at critical moments.”

Yeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Rob, again, it was too funny. My favorite part is when Brian flips over the couch, and his Titannica shirt. I wonder how many they made of those for Mr Show. Anyway, the ghost of Zach’s mom was disturbing in appearance. Job well done.
WOW! I hope you’ll be directing more episodes in the future. I really like the feel of the two episodes, and I am afraid to see an episode directed by anyone else now.
please tell me you had something to do with the ‘Last Dragon’ style beat down?
I was laughing hysteircally when I heard that music
WHO IS THE MASTA!?
SHO NUFF!
That was allllll me. I’ve been wanting to use The Last Dragon in a scene forever. Here’s a bit of trivia Chris Nelson (who played Tommy Plympton in Kill Bill Vol. 2) did the make-up for the Ghost -played by Mrs. Spongebob herself, Jill Talley (Mr. Show)
Next week’s is not directed by me but Kate and I are both in it. Good episode too!
“Bruce Leroy…cathing bullets?! With his teeth?”
Fucking. Awesome. I lost my junk when I heard ‘The Last Dragon’ theme song. Awesome episode.
two words rob: you kick major ass. great shit dude.
Yeeaaaaaahhhhh! x 400000000000000
The Last Dragon inspired me to go to medical school.
Just got picked up for a second season. Thanks everyone!
NICE!
I’m still singing “you are the last dragon…” today.
fuckin love that movie, gonna have to watch it again.
That should be in EVERYONE’S DVD library.
Watching ‘Jesus is Magic’ right now on HBO or one of those pay channels.
This was excelent Rob. Really well done. I was late to work because of it as I just could not stop watching. “Give me the wallet, mythbuster” cracked me and the girl friend up. Can’t wait to see more.
congrats on the 2nd season. i have everyone watching it at work. huge hit!!
this blog smells like farts!
Great episode! The Last Dragon was the first film that I ever saw (or remember seeing) in theaters. Plus, the Robot Bastard poster in the back, awesome. How long did it take to choreograph the fight?
I’ve been telling everybody about RB and the Crooked Teeth video and of course, Sarah’s program. Keep it up!
Rob, before I knew that you were directing episodes of the Sarah Silverman Program, I sent an email (via the Comedy Central website) inquiring about the use of the Homestar Runner poster in the set background. Then, my brother Mike (Chapman) told me that you are involved with the show and that he told you it was cool if you wanted to use the poster. In the unlikely event that my email ever gets forwarded to you or to anyone involved with the show please ignore it!
Little Triva: Jim Mahfood (Scud: Tales from the Vending Machine, 40 oz. Comix, Clerks comic) did the mural in the back of the resturant, featured in every episode.
My wife, who people always mistake for sarah silverman, loved this episode. Now that the show is getting to be so popular, it looks like my wife will never have to pay for a drink ever again. Thanks for saving me so much money!
Hey Rob,
I’m really hoping that the canadian version of comedy central (comedy network) picks this up so that I can watch it…look hilarious. You do excellent work.
Just wanted to add another worthless comment about Feb. 15th episode. That scene with you in the aids clinic was the funniest thing. That expression with you did when the doctor was reading you the test results was hysterical! Great setup and awesome punch-line!
Rob, LOVE Scud (and glad you will be finishing the book), but this show was soo funny. I wonder, how does your sense of humor match with Sarah’s seemingly scathing sense of humor.
Best, Mike
This is my new favorite show. The homeless guy episode is the funniest one so far. I love that you’re using Jay Johnston as the cop guy. He has been one of my favorite comedy actors since he did “Choo Choo the Herky Jerky Dancer” and “The Story of the Story of Everest” on Mr Show.
Brian and Steve are the two funniest characters on the show. Maybe they should do a spin-off.
