LOST MONSTER HOUSE ANIMATIC –FOUND!
WOW. I thought this was LOST FOREVER but perfect assistant David Seger, dug up this never seen before gem.
While Harmon and I were working on the finale of Monster House, we put together an in camera “Animatic.” Inspired by what you might have seen in The MAking of Return of the Jedi, Dan and I played with toys with my brand new Handicam.
It’s LONG! No edits (FCP didn’t exist back then). It was one of our first DV projects. And there’s a couple of restarts so Chowder says “Get away from her you bitch” like, five times or something.
Chowder sounds like Cartman because South Park JUST came out that year.

Holy cow! This is really from the beginning! It’s amazing how much of it they kept in the movie and, um, not so amazing how much they cut out.
“I’m gonna put this TNT right. Up. Your. Ass! Open wide mothafuckah!” was something I felt definitely would have added to the IMAX version of the movie.
