My sil is trying to put led lights in rubber rats for halloween, would this work for him also. The only thing, Radio Shack sold him the big D cell battery holder for this project and told him to use th 1.5 volt bulb.

If all else fails, you could always hit the local Big Lots and just gut whatever toys they have there.

just go to radio shack & tell them what you're trying to do. it might seem a little intimidating at first, but just like that ch101 diagram shows it's pretty straight forward. just think of it as a car: you need enough horsepower (batteries) to go faster (more lights). but you can't go hog wild with power or you'll fry it.

soldering could be a little bit of a pain so you should definitely get a bunch of extra parts when you fubar. just remember to heat the solder and not the wires, so when the solder melts it drips onto the parts you're trying to join.

you should be able to get a complete soldering kit for $10 MAX at radio shack. have them walk you thru how to use it if you're still not sure. "see one, do one, teach one" is still the best way to learn. they might even have a little freebie pamphlet for you.

i'd also get a roll of electrical tape. cheap and it'll let you put it all together a little better.

P.S LEDs (light emitting diodes) will probably be the better way to go.

1.5 volt bulb and a D cell battery should work. You can get stuff like that at Radio Shack.
