Dunegons & Dragon’s
Back in 1994. I was in a improv sketch troop called “The Dead Alewives” We put out a remarkably unfunny CD called “Take Down the Grand Master” On this album was a Sketch written by Dan Harmon, I played one of the voices-(Where’s the Mountain Dew?). It was made into CG sketch and renamed Summoner Geeks and became a hit on Ifilm.

Holy Shit
Holy Shit-shit
Holy …Shit?
This is getting ridiculous
HA!
I’m surprised this is the first you’ve heard of this
I remember the hidden ‘song’ tracks on the SCUD game for Saturn
“BILL! I’m here about the… lightbulbs’
I thought the Dead Alewife shit was hysterical.
heh i wiki’d The Dead Alewives and and I’ve seen ComedySportz. We went on a “field trip” to see them cause I was in my high school improv class at West Bend West, not far from Millwaukee.
actually now that i’m thinking about it I think my improv teacher mentioned The Dead Alewives once or twice. Crazy.
Dude, you and you’re partner in crime are starting to scare me, popping up in all my favorite geek stuff. Kind of like when I found out the guy who wrote the best episodes of The Real Ghostbusters, Jayce and the wheeled warriors, Spiral zone, the Cyborg issue of Teen Titans spotlight and Babylon 5 was the same guy.
I’m kinda surprised myself that you’ve only recently discovered the far reach of this now-classic sketch from your “early days”. I mean, I know you’ve been busy with all sorts of stuff this last long while, but, yeah, it blew up! I am proud to say I own both the Dead Alewives CD AND the VHS tape, and still appreciate the material therein (especially the CD) to this day. Sure, I don’t love ALL of it, but there are some gems in there, and to own an old piece from your creative output history is akin to owning a rare, early recording from a musician one greatly admires. Thanks, Rob (and Dan), and keep that good stuff coming (here’s to watching Scud #21 in the future)!

I remember watching Summoner Geeks about 6 years ago. We used to watch it before every D&D game…thanks for the inspiration Rob.
Yeah, this came up in a guild run in World of Warcraft the other day. Someone said something about an ogre slaying knife and it was quickly met with “Where’s the Mountain Dew?” We had a good laugh.
Then someone said “Yeah, I love that flash movie!” And it dawned on me that you guys never get proper credit for that skit.
I did correct them, but some people just don’t want the truth.
Oh yea, this clip is classic. I knew it was from the Dead Alewives, but few people do. It is very popular (maybe even viral). I’m surprised you never saw the different versions it spawned.
oh man, i love that sketch.
Wow
That’s supposed to be an impression of me?
Are you kidding me?
Freaking me out
This is the only copy of this I’ve heard.
OMG, your album was not unfunny it was and is one of the funniest and cleverest pieces of humor ever created. I would be willing to pay a LOT of money for a copy of “Take down the grand Master” I have a significant number of friends that have acted out your skits in a theater group. You guys are legendary for a whole new generation of people. Please let me know how we might be able to get a copy of both of your albums (I believe you have two right?)
Thank you for the hours of enjoyment you have given, personally I think answering machine is one of the best skits every created.
I hope you read this and I will be getting others to leave messages here as well.
Thank you again
