Cool Pirate Animation

I really miss drawn animation. It seems to be a lost art. Everything is CG now. My brother, Jeff, sent me this really cool french animated short. The action is fantastic and it moves so smoothly with the 3-d backgrounds. Hope they make a feature version of this.

Rob can you post a drawing of that McDonald’s head monster from Scud 20? I tried to never ask this but I couldn’t help it. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Now that it’s out of my system I’m done.

I laughed at “heat wave and jack” on youtube,it brought me here. I miss Scud,Read the story of how it went south,I can relate. Why don’t you 2D feature quality animate him? I’m sure you can get some direct to DVD distributor type to back you. your doin’ sarah silverman’s show?! neato.

It’s Heat Vision and Jack. Wave doesn’t even sound like Vision!

No, but when people are trying to remember a two word phrase beginning with “Heat”, “Heat Wave” is more commonly used in regular conversation than “Heat Vision”. Unless you’re a nocturnal voyeur.

Hey Rob, I know this is late, but I’ve got a site for you. One of the artists that worked on that film goes by the handle “Balak” and he has a Deviant Art page here : http://balak01.deviantart.com/
He has a couple pencil tests of work he’s done. He’s a really talented guy. Go check him out. It’s a shame though, he used to have a sketch-blog that he updated frequently. Oh well.

    Congrats on Monster House.
